I think the old man likes the old man? He sat there headbutting him for ages.

Pulled him out with the intentions of a redo, but I think he looks fine enough? Can kind of see the old in him too. Far better in person. Why do I like white resin when I know it doesn’t photograph well x(

Just got a Psn Email saying the game of the year edition (which I assume comes with the dlc) of dishonored is on sale this week AFTER I bought the base version a bit ago..RUDE.

Tired old mage has his face done, but there’s no more sun, so two craptastics with lamp, and another two with flash.

Giving Anders a face!
It’s okayish in person, far more detailed than these show (can’t see age lines etc) but he’s white resin, so pretty difficult to photograph.
Now it’s paint time (once the msc dries) !

Citadel dlc is still the greatest mood perker, and no one can convince me otherwise.
The start was a bit mrgh on insanity, but awkward Kaidan fixed that minor blip.

CONFESSION:
Anders will always be a hero to me. He’s been abused, told that he’s a sin in the eyes of their god, been left in solitary confinement for more than a year, and possibly been raped BUT he still just wants to be free to at least live. It really upsets and worries me when someone says he’s a terrorist/monster. Do they seriously believe that someone who blows something up is automatically a terrorist? No. A  terrorist uses violence an intimidation to achieve political goals. Anders tried writing, talking, and saving/helping Circle mages and apostates. It was only after NINE YEARS of trying to persuade ONE Circle that what they were doing is WRONG  that he blew up a building with two or three sisters, one or two citizens, and a cleric that did nothing to stop the abuse and rape of hundreds of mages to get SOMEONE to recognize the injustice that mages face. That’s no terrorist. That’s a  man with no options left trying to save people like him.

I will never understand why he’s branded as a terrorist. Do some people associate terrorism with explosions alone, rather than the spreading fear part or something?

I don’t know, maybe it has to do with the fact that he deliberately lied to all his closed friends, even those who supported the mages and wanted to set them free, and manipulated them to help him  destroy one of the most important building in the city (which btw, had more than just a couple of priest and nun in there. Probably at least a hundred Chantry sister/chanters lived there, as well as all the civilian going there. Remember that the Chantry is the predominant religion in a land where MOST [not just “some”. MOST.] people ARE religious so ofc there would be a lot of people going there to pray), which killed a LOT of people, not only those inside, but those outside/near it too, IN ORDER TO START A WAR (he certainly didn’t expect to blow the Chantry up and having people go “okay, I guess the mages can go do whatever they want now) WHICH THEN LED TO EVEN MORE PEOPLE DYING in order to achieve -drumroll- a political goal (since the treatment of mages IS part of politics in thedas).Did he think that his intentions were for the greater good? Yes. But so would think any terrorist. He’s not just a terrorist because he blew up a building. He’s a terrorist because he deliberately blew up a building knowing it would cause many to die, and start a war (which was his primary goal), which caused even more innocents to die.
Dont get me wrong, I love Anders to bits, he’s always in my party and is my most often romanced character, but it doesn’t change what he did in the end. It was WRONG. Good intention. WRONG execution. I’ll end this by quoting Isabella.
Anders: There is justice in the world.
Isabela: Is there? You want to free the mages. Let’s say you do, but to get there, you kill a bunch of innocent people.
Isabela: What about them? Don’t they then deserve justice?
Anders: Yes.
Isabela: And then what? Where does it end?
Isabela: It’s like a bar brawl. People are continuously pulled into the fray, and nobody remembers why it started.
Isabela: Justice is an idea. It makes sense in a world of ideas, but not in our world.

I didn’t agree with all of this confession. I know he hit a high death count and all that, I just don’t feel myself that it was an act of ‘terror’. By my understanding, the true definition of terrorism is pretty debatable. But your reasoning certainly makes sense. Was nice to read the view of someone else who likes the baby bird but can also admit to the ‘boom’ causing chaos, in stead of the people who go all ‘but he did nothing wrong!’ or ‘hatehatehate’ on him.

So I wrote a thing a whiley ago in which Hawke refers to Anders as his baby bird. Now it keeps creeping into current things…
